Our Company
Elder Care Strategies began in 2012, primarily as an assisted living placement service in Tucson, Arizona. In the years since then, the landscape of elder care has changed dramatically. As Arizona’s senior population has grown, so has the complexity of elder care decisions, both in terms of finding appropriate care and in figuring out how to pay for it.
We have chosen to evolve in order to help our clients and prospective clients throughout Arizona effectively address the reality of rapidly escalating elder care costs as part of their plan. We do that by conducting a thorough evaluation of the specific care needs and preferences of your loved one as well as their current available financial resources.
We then explore possible eligibility for long term care benefits such as ALTCS and Veterans Pension with Aid and Attendance as well as any other financial tool that might be helpful in maximizing their resources.
Finally, if needed, we provide consultation regarding affordable care options which are appropriate for their set of circumstances and will work together with you to put all of the pieces together. If you already have a preferred care provider or you are already working with a placement advisor we will support their role in this process.
John Rosness, MBA
As the son of a late World War II fighter pilot, I’m honored to be a VA Accredited Claims Agent who has helped hundreds of military veterans and surviving spouses to receive the VA Aid and Attendance benefit to help pay for care. I’m also an accomplished ALTCS planner and can guide you through the tedious process of obtaining approval for your loved one without unnecessary spend-down.
I have worked in assisted living as both a marketing director and general manager. As a licensed Assisted Living Facility Manager in the state of Arizona, I’m also well-versed in state assisted living regulations. This knowledge and experience gives me real-world understanding about the inner workings of assisted living which can help you avoid costly mistakes.
I look forward to helping you maximize all of the available financial resources in making the very best elder care decisions for your friend or family member.
Lt. Col. Joseph H. Rosness
Debbie Rosness, BA in Psychology
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and eventually began working in senior care where I have been for over seventeen years. As a licensed Arizona Assisted Living Facility Manager I have extensive knowledge of state regulations which enables me to steer you toward the providers who have a strong track record of providing quality care.
Having grown up in Tucson, and having worked as a placement advisor for many years I am quite familiar with the various quality care options in our community. I find great fulfillment in assisting the elderly and their families find just the right place.
I’m also very sensitive to the need for affordability and will only present care options which are consistent with your loved one’s budgetary constraints.
My placement service is free-to-you as we are compensated by the care provider you choose. I welcome the opportunity to help you identify the very best care options for your loved one.
